Ratification by Belgium to the Second Protocol to the Hague Convention of 1954 for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict (The Hague, 26 March 1999)
“On 13 October 2010, Belgium deposited with the Director-General its instrument of ratification to the Second Protocol to the Hague Convention of 1954 for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict.
The instrument contained the following declaration:
“ DECLARATION DU ROYAUME DE BELGIQUE
Conformément à l’article 16, § 2, a) du Protocole et au principe de non discrimination, la Belgique incriminera les actes énoncés à l’article 15 dudit Protocole sans tenir compte de l’exception prévue en son article 16 paragraphe 2, b) » [Original : French]
In accordance with the terms of its Article 43.2, the Protocol will enter into force with respect to Belgium three months after the deposit of the instrument of ratification, that is to say on 13 January 2011.”
