About the Event
Calling all visual artists: join the Center for Art Law’s Artist Legacy and Estate Planning Clinic for an evening of low-cost consultations with attorneys, appraisers and financial advisors with experience in estate and legacy planning.
After a keynote presentation delivered by Joy Glidden on non-legal tools and solutions for the preservation of artists’ legacies, each participating artist wwas paired with one of the Center’s volunteer professionals for a confidential 20-minute consultation.
About the Speaker
JOY GLIDDEN is the founder of the Center for the Preservation of Artists’ Legacies (CPAL), a non-profit dedicated to the preservation of visual contemporary artists’ legacies. CPAL’s mission is to develop strategies to promote equity and stewardship of individual artist legacies through innovative cross-disciplinary solutions. A curator and arts administrator with 40+ years of experience in the non-profit and commercial arts, Joy is best known as the founder of the Dumbo Art Under the Bridge Festival and the DUMBO Arts Center. She previously served as the director of New Orleans-based nonprofit Louisiana ArtWorks (2007–2010), founding director of PBS – Art Index TV (2010–present), and senior advisor to the Northern New England Museum of Contemporary Art and to the Northern New England Artist Legacy Project (2017–2020).
