You’ve Been Served: “The Price of Everything” (2018)
August 1, 2023
About this Event:
“You’ve been Served” — a movie ticket, a discussion and a drink.
The Price of Everything (2018) is a documentary film directed by Nathaniel Kahn. This documentary ponders the question of how we price the seemingly intangible value of fine art — an exploration into the rarefied realm of celebrity artists, art galleries, auction houses, and wealthy collectors.
The film, Emmy-nominated for Best Arts & Culture Documentary, takes its title from an Oscar Wilde quote delivered on screen by art collector Stefan Edlis: “There are a lot of people who know the price of everything and the value of nothing.”
