It is designed for use within the Center for Art Law’s Visual Artist Immigration Clinic and aims to help artists and arts organizations understand eligibility criteria, application processes, and the feasibility of visas for participation in art fairs, exhibitions, residencies, performances, and other professional activities. The guide focuses on the most relevant employment-based, talent-based, and temporary visitor classifications used in the arts sector, with notes on documentation, timing, and common issues.

About the Center's Clinic
-
The Visual Artists’ Immigration Clinic is designed to guide emerging visual artists through the process of obtaining a visa to the United States. The Center for Art Law works with a growing team of volunteer immigration attorneys experienced in helping visual and performing artists.
-
The purpose of the Clinic is to provide visual artists with an opportunity to discuss their eligibility for a visa to the United States with an experienced attorney. Following the Clinic, participants receive immigration law guides and the contact information of the participating attorneys if they wish to schedule a more in-depth consultation.
