John Belcaster serves as General Counsel of MSCHF, an American art collective based in Brooklyn. Before joining MSCHF, John built legal, risk, and compliance functions as General Counsel for two fintech start-ups, PayForward and NextCapital (acquired by Goldman Sachs). For a decade, John worked in a small Chicago-based law firm alongside former colleague, Barack Obama. Prior to his General Counsel roles, John worked as a software developer and served as an economics instructor in Chicago, where his classroom experiences earned widespread acclaim.
