As a non-lawyer, and an arts professional who runs a museum, this was a wonderful chance to explore terms and concepts that are difficult to learn about without attending law school. Seeing the inside of the New York art market helped me explore the connections to law that impact my job. From contracts and auction practices to artist protections and provenance research, the Art Law Summer School provided a wonderful primer on legal issues in the arts.

The Center for Art Law provided with me with a very unique and incredible opportunity to meet like minded individuals with similar passions to mine. The speakers and outings exposed me to areas of the art market I knew little about. I’m grateful I partook in this week long program and only wish it had been longer.

This was one of the most amazing learning experiences I have had the pleasure of participating in. There is definitely no better place to delve into Art Law than the heart of New York, and the Center’s varied approach of outings and guest speakers on fascinating topics kept me engaged the whole week.
